Department of ED Reform Strategy

This webinar will provide an overview of the Department of Education’s overarching education reform strategy as represented by the guidelines for various programs with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Marshall (Mike) Smith, Senior Counselor to the Secretary of Education and Director of International Affairs, will discuss what the Department is doing to motivate states to address key issues and why, including charter schools and teacher incentive pay. Finally the presentation will explore implementation challenges that the Department envisions at the state and local levels.
